Sorelle
Sorelle.
The Italian word for sisters. We started this brand because we were looking for the same thing, separately, and every option on the shelf was either cheaper than it looked, or more expensive than it needed to be.
What we make
Silk sleepwear and the things that go with it: pyjama sets, slips, robes, kimonos, lounge trousers. Pieces are cut and graded in our pattern room, produced in small batches, and shipped from the Netherlands.
Why silk
Silk is a natural fibre that breathes, regulates temperature, and gets softer with every wash, which is the opposite of how most fabrics behave. A well-made silk pyjama set is the piece of clothing you'll reach for first and replace last.
We chose silk because it does what it claims. The same can be said of cotton, linen, and merino, but for sleepwear, nothing else has the combination of weight, drape, and temperature regulation that silk has.
The momme weight
Momme is the unit used to weigh silk. One momme is 4.34 grams per square metre of fabric. The higher the momme, the denser and more durable the silk.

Our silk sleepwear runs 19–22 momme depending on the style. The short set ships at the lighter end (summer weight); the long-sleeve and robe pieces ship at the heavier end for drape. Each product page lists the exact momme of that piece.
What we don't claim
We don't claim our silk comes from a specific Italian region or that it was woven on a particular loom by a particular craftsman. It wasn't, and we'd rather be honest about the production chain than vague about it. Our silk is sourced from suppliers we can name, woven in mills we have visited, and cut and sewn in factories whose working conditions we have audited.
Certification
Every piece of Sorelle Luna is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, the most widely used textile safety standard in the world. OEKO-TEX tests the silk, the dyes, the finishes, and the trims for substances harmful to human health, at every stage of production. The certificate registration number is on the care label inside every garment; you can verify it through the OEKO-TEX label check.
How we work
- Small batches. Most pieces are produced once per colour, per season. When a colourway sells through, we make a deliberate decision about whether to repeat it.
- One pattern room. Every piece starts in our pattern room, where we grade the patterns and write the specifications. The factory doesn't decide the fit, we do.
- Sampled twice. Every new style goes through two physical samples before production. We photograph the second sample on a real person and grade from there.
